We are all created for a purpose. Some of us spend our whole lives looking for that purpose. We have this longing inside of us that keeps drawing us closer and closer to it. We strive to find it and we take one major step or reach a life goal and it feels good. But then we are drawn to something else yet again. I believe that God puts that longing in us to help lead us where he wants us to be. He doesn’t show us the whole path because we might get overwhelmed and quit before we get there or we might decide it isn’t worth it and give up. Instead, he gives us a goal, we work on it until we succeed or give up, and then he lays the next goal out there. When we are done it is the story of our lives.
This week’s episode of Reviving Your Soul (Now Longing for More) is my story. They say it is important for podcasters to tell their story so listeners get a chance to know you. I found it was one of the hardest episodes to share. What I find interesting is that it has been even more difficult to write this blog about. In fact, I almost didn’t.
You see, the reason so many Reviving Your Soul episodes are about me and my experiences, is because that is the way I learned the lessons in my life. Just like the experiences you have had are how you learned your lessons in life. I encourage you to share your story, too. Someone needs to hear what you have to say. Someone out there is hurting with many of the same pains you have survived and you are the only one that can help them through it. In fact, I will venture to say that it could be the purpose for which you were created. Don’t hide from it. Step into it and trust God to get you through whatever it is that he is drawing you toward. Yes, it is hard to be vulnerable, but that is what makes it real.
When you listen to this episode or any episode for that matter, and you think of someone who could benefit from the lesson in the story, please share it with them. Not because I need more people to know me, but because I believe that more people need to know that its ok to take risks, and it’s ok to make mistakes. That there is forgiveness and there is joy all wrapped up together in this messy thing we call life.
If you haven’t listened to the episode called The Search for Enough yet, I humbly ask you to consider doing so. It’s my story and it isn’t all pretty. Believe me, I’m pretty sure that I would have made different choices along the way had someone told me how some of the events would turn out. I’m so glad we don’t get the script ahead of time because I would have hated to miss even one chapter of this life.
Thank you to those who have taken the time to read this and listen to my podcast. I know how busy you all are. And a huge thank you to those who have taken the time to write a review of Reviving Your Soul. I cherish each one.
Have a blessed day!
