The Power of a Question

Have you ever considered the transformative power of one simple question? It can take you back decades, change the trajectory of your life, or help formulate a corporate strategy. For me, two questions in different settings have been life-changing. The first, “What are you hiding?” And the second, “What do you enjoy doing?” Have set the stage for my second career: Helping Christians engage their faith in the workplace.

The first question, asked during a mediation with a coach years ago, helped me realize that I had been hiding my faith and that it was time to stop. Shortly after, a different coach asked the question to help me clarify what I should focus my new career on. The answer was facilitating conversations, but I didn’t have a platform for that, nor did I have a good mechanism.

Until now.

This week, I had the privilege of undergoing OXE training to learn how to facilitate conversations using the XCHANGE process. Though I am not yet certified, the insights gained during this training have equipped me with a powerful set of tools to foster meaningful discussions.

The XCHANGE process utilizes the power of questions to help audiences uncover insights, foster collaboration, and drive positive change. It was during this transformative training that I discovered the immense potential of questions to unlock untapped possibilities within individuals and groups.

As I embark on this new chapter, I am thrilled to announce my entry into facilitating meetings and conversations for corporate, church, and nonprofit organizations. The power of a question is not just a concept; it’s a tool that can revolutionize the way we interact, communicate, and ultimately, achieve our goals.

Reflecting on my own journey, those pivotal questions—”What are you hiding?” and “What do you enjoy doing?”—not only propelled me toward a meaningful career but also inspired me to assist others in navigating their unique paths. Now, armed with the insights from my training, I am prepared to guide individuals and teams toward discovering their strengths, addressing challenges, and fostering a culture of open communication.

In today’s dynamic and fast-paced world, effective communication is at the heart of success for any organization. Whether you are a corporate entity aiming to enhance teamwork, a church seeking to strengthen community bonds, or a nonprofit organization striving to fulfill its mission, the ability to facilitate meaningful conversations is paramount.

The XCHANGE process, which I have been trained in, goes beyond traditional facilitation methods. It leverages the art of questioning to unlock innovative ideas, create a shared vision, and promote a collaborative environment where every voice is heard. By harnessing the power of questions, I am confident in my ability to guide your organization toward greater cohesion, productivity, and fulfillment of its mission.

As I step into this facilitation role, my goal is to create a space where individuals feel empowered to express their thoughts, concerns, and aspirations openly. Through intentional questioning, we will explore new perspectives, break down barriers, and build bridges that connect individuals and teams.

Whether you are navigating complex corporate challenges, seeking to deepen spiritual connections within your church community, or striving to make a lasting impact through a nonprofit endeavor, I am here to facilitate the conversations that matter most. Though not yet certified in this process, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a commitment to unlocking the potential within your organization.

If you are ready to harness the transformative power of questions and elevate your organization to new heights, I invite you to reach out. Let’s embark on this journey together and discover the untapped potential that lies within the art of meaningful conversation.
